Submissions
We have been swamped with manuscript submissions and have decided to close submissions for a time to catch up with proposals and decide what is next. We are closed until April 2012 to ALL unsolicited manuscript submissions.
Any submissions that arrive in this time will not be read and immediately returned. Please wait until April to send thank you.
Please note that when we reopen in April 2012 for all submissions we will be looking at manuscripts fairly quickly so if you have something that you think is ready to send - work on it so it is as best as it can be and then send it in April.

Please post manuscripts along with any manuscript appraisals, editor comments or other information. We do accept unsolicited manuscripts, however for the best possibility of publication your manuscript should be refined and accompanied by supporting documentation. Please also include a personal CV.

Submissions should be complete, well presented and of high quality. Please don't send us your first drafts. We believe in seeing you value your work to make it as best it can be and we want our books to turn out as well as they can. Therefore it is best to work on your manuscript to the highest possible standard before submitting to a publisher. If you are writing fiction, please note we subscribe to modern writing techniques including tight "point of view" and the principles of "show don't tell".
PLEASE SEND only 3 chapters of a full length fiction or non-fiction title. If we like it we will request the rest to be emailed.
Also send it printed one sided at 1.5 spacing and in a plain font such as Times New Roman. Ensure the typeface is easy to read - for example not handwritten and all in normal sentence case. Please just indent paragraphs.
We are looking for new authors as well as established authors.
Please include any plans you have to promote as the Christian market in Australia is not huge and you will benefit most from also promoting yourself. we will help you know what to do if you don't know. Some books we will promote to both the trade and Christian markets, please advise us where you think your book is suited.

Turn around time for decisions can be up to 4-6 months, however we attempt to be faster. We prefer non-simultaneous submissions, but if you are submitting multiple places please include this information in your cover letter AND most importantly keep us up to date if you get other interest. Also include any comments you have previously received on the manuscript that you have attended to if you think it is relevant.
We request you include a PREPAID envelope that will fit your ENTIRE manuscript if sending all of it OR your 3 chapters for longer manuscripts for return. Please do not write on it as we store envelopes separately and this process means we are normally faster at returning manuscripts (ie the envelope used will not necessarily be the one you sent, but will be one that safely fits your manuscript). Also recent price changes to postage have meant many of our stamped envelopes no longer match the appropriate price, hence we prefer a PREPAID envelope or satchel, not stamps.
It is our policy to return manuscripts where no offer is made. We prefer to return them rather than destroy them. We do this so you have a definite answer regarding your submission. However if a manuscript comes WITHOUT an envelope for return it will not be considered. Please follow our guidelines to make the process quicker!

If you are an Australian author writing fiction we sincerely suggest you read other Australian authors so you know the style of writing in Australia. We have a number of Australian authors and other Australian publishers also do. Check them out and ensure your book is unique!

If you are considering sending a fiction manuscript please be advised in January - June we are sponsoring the CALEB unpublished fiction award run through Omega Writers. The potential prize is free editing and publication. Plus a bit of promotion!! Therefore we will look at direct submissions for fiction only after we have considered these. Please keep this in mind if submitting directly. We encourage you to submit to this award during this time as it will fast track your submission, you will receive a report whether successful or not and other publication offers may be made based on the quality of the manuscripts. Please note however there is an appraisal fee paid to Omega Writers for this entry to pay for the appraisal report you receive, direct submissions do not incur a fee.
